After the swell of Ebola infections slowed, doctors and nurses across Liberia were desperate to prevent the tragedy from happening again.

Water, plastic, and community leaders were the solution.

What does it take to prevent Ebola transmission Liberia? Long-term behavior change. During 2014, JSI worked with health workers in hospitals, clinics, and health centers across Liberia to make sure that infection prevention and control practices like hand washing and correct waste management are standardized across the country.

This multimedia storytelling campaign, including a documentary, short social media interview clips, and two photo essays, showcased the critical role community leaders and peer educators played in overcoming misinformation and encouraging healthy behaviors.
